March Pack Meeting

Thursday, March 26, 2026, 6:30-7:45pm – Barrows Cafeteria

This will be our final Pack meeting in the Barrows Cafeteria this year (though there are many other activities planned before the end of this Cub Scouting season). Depending on turnout, Cub Scouts will be seated in their Den or in pairs of Dens (e.g., Lions and Tigers together) which will form a Wagon team. Pack Leadership will run a series of challenges, games, songs, and activities based on the 1980s video game Oregon Trail. The objective for each Wagon team will be to get to Oregon in as few days as possible by successfully completing a series of challenges. There will be a mixture of brainteasers and physical challenges designed to keep the Cub Scouts engaged and to exercise their knowledge of scouting.

Note that the AOL Den has successfully graduated to Troop 702 and will not be in attendance.

PAST EVENTS

Blue & Gold Banquet

Saturday, March, 21 2026, 1:00-3:00pm – Reading Masonic Temple, 110 Haven Street, Reading, MA

The Blue & Gold Banquet is when the entire Pack assembles to celebrate the AOLs (5th graders) departing Pack 733 and crossing over to Troop 702. This is a major milestone in the Scouting experience. We strongly, strongly, strongly, encourage all Cub Scouts to attend. This year, there will be a DJ who will engage the kids in fun games, a photo booth just like the ones at arcades and the mall (except no charge!), and representatives of Troop 702 to conduct the crossing over ceremony. This event is going to be a lot of fun for everyone! See the emails from Cubmaster Josh or the below link for more info and to sign up. The below link is protected with the same password as the Pat’s Peak sign up and Fall camping trip sign up.

Pinewood Derby – Test Track and Car Impound Event

Friday, January 23, 2026, 6:45-8:00pm – Barrows Cafetorium

Cub Scouts may bring their completed Pinewood Derby car to Barrows test it on the track (optional) and have it weighed and impounded the evening before the Derby event. Previous years these were two separate events, but this year they are combined. This helps to ensure that each Pinewood Derby car meets the requirements in advance of race day. Cub Scouts may drop off their car at any time during the Impound Event. If you cannot make it to this event, you may have your car weighed first thing on race day.

Pinewood Derby – Race Day

This is it, Pinewood Derby Race Day! Cub Scouts, parents, and guests please arrive promptly at 8:30am, the races will begin at 8:45am. Each entry will be eligible to win for style and speed. Cars made by siblings of a Cub Scout will be eligible to race, but are ineligible for a trophy (sorry!) The Pack will provide munchkins and coffee. A link to the rules and what to expect will be posted on this website closer to the date.
